The Baby Hair Tourniquet Syndrome

The baby Hair Tourniquet Syndrome ... what exactly does this mean? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

It is literally a strand of hair šŸ’‡ā€ā™€ļø that unexplainably wraps around a šŸ¦¶toe, ā˜ļøfinger etc. so tight that it can cut through the skin and potentially cut off šŸ©øblood circulation.

This may sound bizarre but did you know this apparently is not uncommon!

Loose threads inside the toes šŸ¦¶of socks šŸ§¦ or sleepers can do the same thing. We found that if you wash their things inside out, you reduce the chance of this happening.

While folding their šŸ‘•šŸ§¦ clothes, check for the seams for loose or fraying threads and stray hairs. It can be a hassle to have to turn everything back right side out, especially if you are an exhausted mama. But, isnā€™t it worth the few minutes of extra work if it saves your babyā€™s life?

We hope you never have to experience this!

Are there any mamas that did experience this horrible nightmare before? If yes how did you discover?
