Oral Thrush in Babies

Oral Thrush is so common in babies šŸ‘¶šŸ¼

And can be painful too ā€¦ šŸ˜£


So what is Thrush? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø


It appears as white patches in baby's mouth. A very common infection in the mouth of babies that is caused by a yeast like Fungus Candida Albicans.

Usually nothing serious, however it can be uncomfortable and painful. Also it can cause difficulties with feeding šŸ¤±šŸ¼šŸ¼


So how can you recognize Thrush in baby/mama?

šŸ”¹ Baby has visible patches on his/her tongue, lips, gums, cheeks.

šŸ”¹ The patches look like milk or cottage cheese and cannot be wiped away.

šŸ”¹ Bottle feeding or sucking on a pacifier can be painful/uncomfortable.

šŸ”¹ The corners of babyā€™s mouth may crack.

šŸ”¹ Mamas nipples are itchy, red, shiny and sometimes you can even see yeast on them.


ā˜ļøThere are some babies with Thrush that donā€™t experience any pain or discomfort.
